Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) is a set of protocols developed to allow cooperating computers at all levels to share resources across a network. The VCCS, like many organizations today are looking to expand the use of this family of protocols to provide new and existing services and applications on the campus and across the VCCS wide area network. These guidelines serve as a reference for colleges planning the campus migration from native SNA support to TCP/IP. The information contained in the following documents is intended to define a minimum set of expectations and configuration options. These documents should be reviewed as necessary to reflect changes in technology and customer requirements.
