Directory Services infrastructure provides a Federated Infrastructure that sets forth a standards based application for automating system administrative tasks, and providing access to customer information.  Information is populated into the Directory using web based Customer Account Administration Manager (CAAM), On-line client based Directory Manager (DM) and batch procedures supported by the VCC Utility.

The infrastructure facilitates pseudo-single signon information to be used by VCCS applications and services.  VCCS customers and applications will be empowered to create and modify their customer account and other application information supported by Directory Services without systems administrators intervention. 

Directory Services will be capable of supporting future distance learning applications, standard business workflow and application automation requirements.
